SpotCheck Cleaners/Removers and Emulsifiers

Overview

Cleaners/Removers penetrant materials are used for pre-cleaning before non-destructive testing and for removing excess surface penetrant from an inspection area before applying developer during liquid penetrant testing. Emulsifiers (available in Lipophilic and Hydrophilic versions), diffuses into the penetrant to clear the penetrant from the surface of the part being inspected and is then rinsed from the part by water to carry penetrant off the part surface. Comes in both liquid and aerosol forms (aerosol available for SKC-S only).

SKC-S, Cleaner & Remover, Class 2

SKC-S is an NDT-approved solvent cleaner/remover for pre-cleaning before non-destructive testing and for removing excess surface penetrant from an inspection area before applying developer during liquid penetrant testing. This non-halogenated solvent remover can be used on a wide range of substrates to remove oils, greases and other contaminants. SKC-S dries quickly without leaving a residue, and meets the low-residue requirements for NDT and aerospace penetrant testing.

ZE-4E, Lipophilic Emulsifier, Method B

A Method B lipophilic emulsifier, ZE-4E diffuses into the penetrant to clear the penetrant from the surface of the part being inspected. It is rinsed from the part by water, carrying penetrant off the part surface. Designed to be used with post-emulsifiable penetrants Level 2 ZL-2C, Level 3 ZL-27A or Level 4 ZL-37. Benefits include low volatility and a high flash point, so ZE-4E can be used in open immersion tanks. ZE-4E is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List.

ZR-10E, Hydrophilic Emulsifier, Method D

Designed to remove excess surface penetrant, ZR-10E minimizes surface background during Method D fluorescent penetrant testing while protecting indication integrity in critical component inspections. ZR-10E provides long tank life and excellent solution consistency for dependable, long-lasting performance in a variety of applications. This Method D remover reduces fluorescent background on rough surfaces and minimizes penetrant bleed-out from hollow parts. ZR-10E is tested and approved to AMS 2644 to work with Magnaflux PE penetrants ZL-2C Level 2, ZL-27A Level 3 and ZL-37 Level 4 for verified penetrant system reliability. ZR-10E is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List and is approved for use by Pratt & Whitney.
