Eddy current coating thickness instruments use a probe to generate a eddy current field in the base material and then measure the change in the eddy current field created by thickness changes of the coating. Instruments are avialable with built-in probes or seperate probes. There are probes for thin and thick coatings and instruments with features to match almost every conceivable requirement and budget.
