The MikroTest 6 Automatic Coating Gauge measures non-magnetic coatings on steel and galvanic nickel on steel. The coating thickness is measured by pressing the magnet (housed at the end of the Coating Gauge) against the non magnetic coating surface. After contact, the magnet is automatically pulled off via a tension spring. The MikroTest 6 Automatic Coating Gauge works on flat or curved surfaces including overhead angles, on tubes, or pipes. The device is fully analog and does not require calibration or power.
A manual pull-off model is available in several configurations and can be found here.
The automatic mode of operation is as follows:
The scope of application for the Mikrotest 6 is wherever you will need to measure coatings on steel. As such, it is best to ask yourself where such a coating gauge would be best utilized. It's rugged, simplified design makes a great field tool for preliminary data acquisition, or as a dependable primary on the production floor.
A Universal High-Temperature Kit is available for all models of the MikroTest 6 Models that allows it to operate at temperatures up to 212°F (100°C). It can also be used on surface temperatures up to 572°F (300°C), but the Gauge must be limited to less than 5 seconds of surface contact or damage will result. The MK-HT Kit consists of aluminum feet and sensor prism.
Industries of application are:
The MikroTest 6 Automatic is available in nine different measuring ranges; each with two different unit models. Please refer to the table below to understand each models range, units, and application.
