The ACS A1270 is an EMA thickness gauge with an innovative design that replaces permanent magnets with pulsed electromagnets. This eliminates the need for adhering the transducer to ferromagnetic steel object's surfaces, which simplifies the scanning procedure and extends the transducer's service life. This electro-magnetic biasing technology also removes the need for couplant. Has A-scan and Thru-coating capabilities, as well as a high temperature version for measuring objects up to 1,472 °F.
The A1270 offers a simplified way to measure thicknesses during manual UT inspection. Applications include:
Thickness measurements of the walls of steel pipes, objects, parts and nodes made of metals and alloys without the use of couplant and pretreatment of the surface.
Thickness measurements of sheet metal
Thickness measurements of ship bottoms without pretreatment of surface.
Scan Mode
Small diameter transducers (0.31" or 8 mm) for small pipe inspection (from 0.59" or 15 mm)
Digital readout with graphic imaging, A-Scan Mode
B-Scan Mode
Electro-magnetic acoustic thickness gauge with a high-temperature operating range of up to 1,472 °F (800 °C). Equipped with temperature resistant, Arselon coated transducers that can operate couplant-free on hot inspection objects while providing accurate and reliable readings.
