Typical Applications

The major application for the M4900C is measuring the conductivity of aluminum alloys. It automatically tracks the temperature coefficient. The M4900C works well on rough or finished surfaces including forging, castings, sheet stock, and small parts with reasonable mass. Production line conductivity instruments and systems are available for rapid automatic sorting or process control requirements. Applications include:

  • Sorting mixed non-ferrous metals and alloys
  • Evaluating material alloy, hardness and uniformity of heat treat

Replacement Charger Retrofit

Please Note: The M4900C has been through several revisions to the charger connection point in 25 years as the connectors became commercially unavailable.  It is important to make sure that the connection point on the instrument is a round 8-pin style connector.  Should the connection point on the instrument differ, then a retrofit of the instrument at Verimation is necessary.
