The IDMAG Pipeline Demagnetizer reduces magnetism, allowing your welding to take place as it should. Ensuring that your project can avoid costly setbacks due to the common problem of magnetism and arc blow, the Pipeline Demagnetizer is built for tough environments, features quick deployment with effective results, and is easy to operate. Built to use on pipes up to 30", a Power Multiplier is also available for pipes larger than 30".

Degauss Cable:
For pipe diameters larger than 30" or pipes that are heavily magnetized, the Power Multiplier works with the IDMAG System to expand its capabilities. Using a second Degauss cable, it effectively doubles your demagnetizing power. This also allows work on both welds of a spool piece at the same time with one system.
The IDMAG Pipeline Demagnetizer System has more demagnetizing capability at 3000 Amp Turns than the often used welding machine (2700 AMP Turns). The Power Multiplier doubles this for a demagnetizing power of 6000 Amp Turns. In most situations, a lower current can be used which also increases duty cycle.
Oil and Gas Pipelines
Oil and Gas pipelines become magnetized through the use of MFL Smart Pigs. The IDMAG System from Industrial Degauss is a pipeline demagnetizer and can be used on any diameter pipe, large or small.
Steam Pipelines
Steam lines typically feature high chrome content piping and are located in close proximity to power generating units. These pipes require TIG roots which is very sensitive to magnetism and arc blow is a real problem. The IDMAG System is used to remove the magnetism and allow welding to proceed.
Rotating Machinery
Rotating Machinery can become magnetized during service or during repairs and machining. Magnetized components can introduce dirt into lube oil systems and they can cause false vibration and proximity probe readings leading to downtime. Demagnetizing rotor components with the IDMAG System is easy and effective.
